β Boil the driftwood for 15 minutes OR soak in water for 24-48 hours, depending on your water color preferences.
β₯ The main reasons for soaking or boiling are 1) to make sure the piece doesn’t float and 2) to get out all the tannins. Tannins aren’t dangerous but color your water yellow, red, or like tea colored. Some like it, some don’t. Boiling is the most effective way to remove the tannins.
