♥ The main reasons for soaking or boiling are 1) to make sure the piece doesn’t float and 2) to get out all the tannins. Tannins aren’t dangerous but color your water yellow, red, or like tea colored. Some like it, some don’t. Boiling is the most effective way to remove the tannins.
