GINKGO Sculpture Chandelier by Verónica Martínez

The Ginkgo biloba is considered a sacred tree revealing the concept of yin and yang and it is the longest living tree in the world. In autumn its green leaves turn golden yellow, and it is this color that motivated Verónica Martínez to develop the Ginkgo chandelier.

To develop a bespoke Ginkgo light Verónica goes to her Ginkgo tree and thoroughly picks branches to use in the creation of the piece.
The Ginkgo lamp is made of cast brass, using the “lost wax” process, an approach frequently used in jewelry making.

The finer stems of the lamp are cast using real branches from the tree and 5 different leaf molds are produced the leaves to be cast in brass. Once they are cleaned after the casting procedure, the branches and leaves are assembled by competent carvers under the cautious instructions of Veronica, hence developing a special piece each time.

The light is thoroughly constructed with ambience in mind and it can be dimmed to the desired intensity of light, producing soft ginkgo leaf shadows that offer the sensation of being under the golden tree.

The Ginkgo light can be produced in any size as well as in bronze or aluminum.
